Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Flock Safety at 4.9 against Argus Insight's 4.0. Flock Safety also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (7.8K vs 4). Argus Insight's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 57%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Flock Safety holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flock Safety has 7.8K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Flock Safety's written reviews are positive against 75% of Argus Insight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Flock Safety ships an update fortnightly, Argus Insight every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
