The app is targeted at tourists and travellers who plan on taking a specific route and want to know right away if there is anything interesting waiting for them on their trip. Planning trips according to the paper map has its benefits. After all, you cannot spread out a phone on the whole table. However, how can you find out what is truly interesting in the country shown on the map? What not to miss on your trip; where to stop? You can Google every sign on the map and find out what makes the place interesting. OR? You can use Map Explorer and simply move your smartphone over the paper map. Augmented reality will appear instantly. All the sights on your planned route will be displayed on the screen – natural and tourist attractions, monuments, museums, shelters, villages, tourist services or other interesting information. The points of interest will literally jump out of the map and pop up on your smartphone screen. As soon as you click on it, its photo, description, and video or website links will be shown, where you will learn more about the site. You can filter individual categories to display only the points you wish to see. Just scan the map barcode supported by the Map Explorer app and start exploring. A PAPER MAP SHOWS YOU WHERE IT IS, BUT MAP EXPLORER TELLS YOU WHAT IT IS. Have a nice time and touring. :)

The EPU app is designed to guide users to lesser-known spots and promote sustainable tourism with respect for the surrounding nature. Along the routes, the app highlights interesting places you might otherwise overlook and lets you collect virtual plant and animal species. Each species includes fascinating facts, and you can also test your knowledge with fun quizzes. Smart notifications alert you when entering protected areas, provide essential guidelines for behavior, and explain the reasons behind any restrictions or temporary closures. This helps users learn how to respect nature and actively contribute to biodiversity conservation. In collaboration with all Czech national parks and the Nature Conservation Agency (AOPK), EPU gathers up-to-date information from national parks and protected landscape areas across the country, including news, upcoming events, trail closures, and other alerts—all in one place. EPU also offers a community platform where users can organize volunteer events, excursions, or group hikes, and report trail issues. The community can be used to share experiences and photos, discuss routes, and exchange useful tips with fellow travelers.
