Beer Active reads your Apple Health app data, specifically active calories burned, resting calories and steps taken, throughout the day. The app works by background tasks, which are goverened by your device operating system. The more often you use an app, the more often the operating system will allow background tasks to run. Beer Active notifies you through notifications when it detects that you have earned a beer. If you disable Beer Active notifications, you are still able to open the app to view your stats.
