Better Ears is the complete ear training and sight‑reading workout for musicians, students and teachers. Train your musical ear and master music theory — from interval recognition all the way to chord progressions and rhythm training. 15 exercises take you from absolute beginner to pro, at your own pace, with no rules and no pressure. NEW: RHYTHM TRAINING Sharpen your sense of timing with two brand‑new exercises. Hear a rhythm and clap or tap it back, or read rhythmic notation and perform it in time — with count‑in, metronome, triplets and time signatures like 3/4, 4/4 and 5/4. Clap straight into your device's microphone and Better Ears listens. YOU DECIDE HOW TO TRAIN There are no rules to follow. You decide when to start, what to practice and how often. 15 EXERCISES INCLUDED • Interval recognition • Scale recognition • Chord recognition • Chord progressions • Pitch recognition • Melodic dictation • Tempo recognition • Key signature recognition • Music reading • Interval music reading • Scale music reading • Chord music reading • Melody music reading • Rhythm recognition (new) • Rhythm reading (new) ANSWER WITH YOUR VOICE OR A REAL INSTRUMENT Built‑in pitch detection lets you answer by singing or by playing a real instrument (e.g. piano or guitar). Just sing or play the notes when the microphone button lights up red. CUSTOM CHORDS, SCALES & CHORD PROGRESSIONS The built‑in editor lets you add your own chords, scales and chord progressions. FOUR PRESET LEVELS + UNLIMITED CUSTOM LEVELS Start at Beginner, Easy, Normal or Professional — then build your own levels to focus exactly where you need to: church modes, those two pesky intervals, custom rhythms, whatever you like. 6 INSTRUMENTS & CUSTOM SOUNDFONTS Train with Acoustic Grand, Bright Acoustic Piano, Electric Grand, Drawbar Organ, Nylon and Steel Acoustic Guitar — or extend Better Ears with your own sounds via SoundFonts (.sf2). KEYBOARD & FRETBOARD Answer on a virtual piano keyboard or a virtual guitar fretboard. MIDI SUPPORT Route sound through an external MIDI device and even control Better Ears with a connected master keyboard. SYNC ALL OF YOUR DEVICES Keep your Mac, iPhone and iPad in sync via Dropbox. You choose what to sync: your own levels, your statistics, your settings — or all of it. STATISTICS Better Ears tracks your progress for every exercise and every question — right and wrong answers at a glance. WIKIPEDIA INTEGRATION The matching Wikipedia article is shown for each exercise, so the theory is always one tap away. REFRESHED DESIGN A modern, fully redesigned interface on iPhone, iPad and Mac — with full Dark Mode and crystal‑clear music notation.

About

Unison

Think you can't sing? Research says you probably can. Most people who sing out of tune hear pitch perfectly well; their voice just hasn't learned where to go. Unison trains exactly that. FIND OUT WHAT YOUR VOICE NEEDS A free five-minute voice check measures your range, how finely you hear pitch, how accurately you match single notes, jumps and short tunes, and how clearly you can hear a tune in your head. You get a plain-English profile of what's going on and a plan built around it. PRACTICE WITH YOUR OWN VOICE People match their own voice more accurately than anyone else's. Unison records one relaxed "ah" and sings exercises back to you in your own voice, perfectly in tune, and it checks that this actually helps you. If you match the guide voice better, it switches. As you improve, it moves on to a guide voice and then a plain tone, so the skill works with any music. SONGS IN YOUR KEY Thirty songs for real moments: Happy Birthday, Christmas carols, hymns, lullabies, campfire songs, Here Comes the Bride and more, each set to your range. Learn them line by line, then sing them through from memory. HELP THAT STEPS BACK AS YOU IMPROVE See your pitch live in every practice, and as your accuracy holds Unison asks more of you: what counts as on pitch gets stricter, and you call low or high before you look. If you struggle, the help comes back. A SOLO SCORE, NOT A FLATTERING ONE A short weekly solo check, with no hints at all, shows what you can really do on your own. Watch your "with help" and "solo" lines meet. HEAR HOW FAR YOU'VE COME Record one line on day 1, then again each week. Unison makes a side-by-side before-and-after video, day 1 next to today, ready to share. KIND TO YOUR VOICE A daily singing-time limit, practice notes kept inside your comfortable range (and pulled in if they're a stretch), and a steadiness check that switches to a lighter session when your voice seems tired. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your singing is analyzed on your iPhone and never uploaded. Your recordings and videos are never sent to us: they stay on your phone (and in your own private iCloud backup, if you leave it on). No account, no ads, no tracking. SING TOGETHER Rounds and harmony parts with the app, in your key: hold the home note under a tune, then sing a real harmony line. The step from singing in tune alone to singing with others. (Headphones on.) TECHNIQUE AND A COACH THAT NOTICES Breath, steady notes, smooth slides and soft-to-loud control. And a coach that spots your patterns (high notes falling flat, big jumps coming up short) and tells you how to fix them, with the exercise that trains it. LEVELS, BADGES AND FRIENDS Earn XP and badges, sing the weekly challenge song, challenge friends with a link, and opt in to Game Center leaderboards. A STREAK THAT KEEPS YOU GOING Gentle reminders, a streak widget for your Home and Lock Screen, and Siri: "Start my Unison session." UNISON PREMIUM Free: the voice check and your profile, one short session a day, the weekly solo check, three songs, and the breath and steady-note exercises. Premium turns your profile into a plan: every session is aimed at your weak spots, you can practice as often as you like, all songs are included, and you get complete progress tracking. • Premium Yearly, with a 2-week free trial for new subscribers • Premium Monthly Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
