Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Cube Runner at none against Curveball's 1. Cube Runner also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 64%) and ratings volume (504 vs 68). Curveball's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Curveball sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Cube Runner asks for nothing beyond the download.
Curveball holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cube Runner has 504 ratings behind it against 68, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Cube Runner's written reviews are positive against 64% of Curveball's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cube Runner ships an update every 5 months, Curveball every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
