Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: iCave at none against SHREDD's 3. iCave also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). SHREDD's advantage is update cadence (every 5 months vs every 64 months) and ratings volume (897 vs 2). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SHREDD sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. iCave asks for nothing beyond the download.
iCave holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SHREDD has 897 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of iCave's written reviews are positive against 92% of SHREDD's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
iCave ships an update every 64 months, SHREDD every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
