Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: OKview at 5.0 against Remote Desktop's 3.0. OKview also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). Remote Desktop's advantage is review sentiment (52% vs 16%) and ratings volume (146 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

OKview holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Remote Desktop has 146 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Remote Desktop's written reviews are positive against 16% of OKview's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Remote Desktop ships an update every 4 months, OKview every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
