Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MathLearner at 4.4 against Basic Math's 3.0. MathLearner also leads on ratings volume (122 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). Basic Math's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
MathLearner holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MathLearner has 122 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Basic Math's written reviews are positive against 63% of MathLearner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
