Would you know right now how to put someone in the recovery position? If your answer is “No” or “Not exactly”, this application should be of interest to you. People needing first aid often don’t receive any help because others are afraid of doing something wrong. However, there is no doubt about the view of doctors and members of the emergency services, who point out that any help is better than none at all. “First Aid” is designed to help you follow the right procedures in a stressful situation or to support other people by giving them instructions. “First Aid” is based on illustrations and short texts that show you how to take the necessary action step by step and in the right order. To do this, “First Aid” makes use of three basic functions: 1. Emergency call: once you have installed the application, enter and store the emergency call number for your area. That way, in the event of a serious accident, you will be able to dial it automatically straight away. 2. First aid: step by step, the application will guide you through the most useful action you can take in an emergency based on a series of decisions. If you are uncertain, you have direct access to a clearly illustrated, step-by-step tutorial, e.g. on the “recovery position”. 3. Tutorial: you have direct access to all the illustrated instructions to help you practise the techniques. The application includes: - Check if person is conscious - Check if person is conscious (child) - Check breathing - Check breathing (child) - Recovery position - Recovery position (child) - Clearing the airways - Clearing the airways (child) - Checking the pulse - Checking the pulse (child) - Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation - Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (child) - Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation - Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (child) - Rescue grip - Removing a motor cycle helmet

About

Ready4OP

Features

The Ready4Op App is an educational tool for patients before major surgeries. These can be cancer surgery in the abdomen, the thorax, the breast, or others. Major surgeries also can be bariatric surgeries for obese people, or major hernia repairs after surgeries in the past. If you have a different kind of surgery, you can of course use the app too! With the Ready4Op App we want to inform you in an evidence-based fashion about a lot of things that are not always clear for you when you talk to your surgeons for the first time and your GPs or other medical specialists may not be able to cover completely. As we are a specialist team of academic surgeons and anesthetists with together more than 50 years of clinical experience in major surgery and anesthesia, we empower you with 9 categories and 52 subcategories for a better knowledge about medical reports and a better communication with your medical specialists. This includes information about how you can prepare optimally during the weeks before your surgery (prehabilitation) and how things may be in the hospital and thereafter. We want you to be prepared for your personal marathon - and major surgery with everything going along is comparable to a marathon. Be the best version of yourself to get through this with as little problems as possible. We do not use gendered language for easier reading. To be specific our company stands for diversity, tolerance, and equality of all creatures. The Ready4OP app includes evidence-based textbook knowledge. At no time does the app or its content make a diagnosis or provide treatment recommendations prior to surgery. It is not intended to make any medical recommendation or add recommendations to already medically justified and guideline-based or individual therapy regimens. Be sure to discuss your concerns with your treating doctor before making any medical decision for yourself.
