Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: eyeCam at 65% against GV's 22%. eyeCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). GV's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. eyeCam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and GV sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
GV holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GV has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of eyeCam's written reviews are positive against 22% of GV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
eyeCam ships an update every 3 weeks, GV every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
