Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: FREEIP at 4.4 against eyeCam's 1.0. FREEIP also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). eyeCam's advantage is review sentiment (65% vs 25%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. eyeCam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. FREEIP asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

FREEIP holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FREEIP has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of eyeCam's written reviews are positive against 25% of FREEIP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

eyeCam ships an update every 3 weeks, FREEIP monthly. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
