Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: SpellbookMaster at 4.2 against Romi Lite's 3.0. SpellbookMaster also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (6 vs 2). Romi Lite's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (69% vs 60%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
SpellbookMaster holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Romi Lite's written reviews are positive against 60% of SpellbookMaster's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Romi Lite ships an update every 6 weeks, SpellbookMaster every 7 months. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
