Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: NPMHU at none against TMZ's shown. NPMHU also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). TMZ's advantage is ratings volume (214K vs 5) and chart position (#109 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for TMZ against 4.8 for NPMHU. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TMZ has 214K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
