iSeismometer turns your iPhone or iPad into a seismograph. Set it on a table, tap the desk, and watch the ground move. You will be surprised how sensitive your phone is. It has been doing that since the App Store opened in 2008, when it reached #1 in Education in Japan, Austria, Finland, and Greece. Version 1.7 is a complete rebuild: faster, clearer, and finally a real instrument. LIVE SEISMOGRAPH • Three axes at up to 100 samples per second, drawn like a strip-chart recorder • Scroll back through up to an hour of history while it keeps recording • Gravity filter with a real corner frequency, so slow tilt disappears and earthquakes stay • Live spectrum: see the frequency of footsteps, a washing machine, or a passing truck at a glance • Dark mode and a full iPad layout EVENT DETECTION • A seismologist's STA/LTA trigger flags every tremor with its peak acceleration, duration, and dominant frequency • Three sensitivity levels, from "only real shakes" to "every footstep" • Events are shaded on the traces and listed so you can jump straight to them RECORDINGS • Every session is saved automatically as compact raw data, split into hourly files • Browse by day, open any recording, scrub to its events, and see its spectrum • Export CSV, or pick up the raw files in the Files app and in Finder • Keep them for a day, a week, a month, or forever WAS THAT AN EARTHQUAKE? • Live USGS feed on a globe, filtered by time window and magnitude • Tap a quake for its depth, time, and the official USGS page STREAM TO YOUR MAC • Open iSeismometer on a Mac on the same Wi-Fi and your phone finds it by itself • The Mac shows every device streaming to it side by side, with its own recordings and event detection • Reconnects on its own after the screen locks, the network drops, or the Mac restarts Made for fun and for learning. A phone carries a MEMS accelerometer, not a broadband seismometer, so it feels footsteps and trucks far better than distant earthquakes. Put it on a solid floor, plug it in, keep the screen awake, and you have a home seismic station. iSeismometer is not a substitute for official earthquake early warnings or emergency alerts. There's a real aircraft over your head right now. Want to meet it? Planedex turns the sky into a collecting game. A live radar map shows every aircraft near you: real flights, real time, moving as you watch. Tap one to see what it is, who it is, where it's going, and how far along its journey it is. Point your camera up, and its name floats right on the sky. Spot a plane you love? Catch it. Every catch joins your collection - from everyday workhorses to once-a-year rarities - with badges to earn, ranks to climb, and a quiz that turns spotting into knowing. Built for kids. Loved by grown-ups. • Live radar map with planes drawn true to their real shapes and sizes • Point-at-the-sky camera view that names the plane you're looking at • A collection log, 35 badges, and trading cards you can share • A plane quiz with ranks - plus a pass-and-play Family Duel where the grown-up answers harder questions (fair's fair) • Rare-plane alerts: get a heads-up when something special flies by • A Home Screen widget showing the rarest plane overhead right now • Hundreds of true, kid-tested fun facts Planedex Plus is for families who can't stop looking up. Deep Dives add the grown-up layer on 70 aircraft: the design stories, the spot-the-difference cues, the records and rivalries behind the planes your kid catches - plus the register's fine print on any airframe, and a family logbook where everyone's catches land in one list and family members challenge each other to quiz duels across phones. One subscription shares with your whole family. Private by design. No accounts. No ads, ever. No tracking. Nothing about your child is ever collected - every question the app asks the internet is about a plane, never about you. The optional family logbook lives in your own iCloud, never on a server of ours. The sky is already full of stories. Go catch one. — Planedex Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription ($2.99/month or $19.99/year), shared with your family via Apple Family Sharing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account; the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.
