The clearest difference is price: Pro Shogi at Free against 将棋盤 Plus's $0.99. Pro Shogi also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). 将棋盤 Plus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (50% vs 41%). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Pro Shogi is free to download; 将棋盤 Plus costs $0.99 up front. Pro Shogi sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. 将棋盤 Plus asks for nothing beyond the download.
Pro Shogi holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pro Shogi has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of 将棋盤 Plus's written reviews are positive against 41% of Pro Shogi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
将棋盤 Plus ships an update every 3 months, Pro Shogi every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
