Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: مصحف قالون at none against Quran Reader's 1. مصحف قالون also leads on ratings volume (11K vs 841) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Quran Reader's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 16 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Quran Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. مصحف قالون asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Quran Reader against 4.7 for مصحف قالون. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: مصحف قالون has 11K ratings behind it against 841, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of Quran Reader's written reviews are positive against 91% of مصحف قالون's.
Quran Reader ships an update every 2 months, مصحف قالون every 16 months. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
