Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: X at none against TimeCount's 8. X also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and device support (3 vs 1). TimeCount's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (25K vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimeCount sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. X asks for nothing beyond the download.
X holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TimeCount has 25K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of X's written reviews are positive against 79% of TimeCount's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
X ships an update every 9 months, TimeCount every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
