Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Awesome Note 2 at none against Notebook's 1. Awesome Note 2 also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Notebook's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Notebook sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Awesome Note 2 asks for nothing beyond the download.
Notebook holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 593 and 523 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Awesome Note 2's written reviews are positive against 71% of Notebook's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Awesome Note 2 ships an update weekly, Notebook every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
