Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Pinkpop at 5.0 against NPO Start's 4.1. Pinkpop also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs freemium). NPO Start's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Pinkpop holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NPO Start has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 4% of NPO Start's written reviews are positive against 0% of Pinkpop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
NPO Start ships an update fortnightly, Pinkpop every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
