Track the moon through the eyes of seven ancient and modern spiritual traditions. Wiccan Moon is a lunar companion for the modern pagan. Not a generic astrology app with a pentacle slapped on it, but a considered, beautiful tool that respects the traditions it draws from. It feels like opening a hand-illuminated Book of Shadows, now on iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo. Seven Moon Traditions Every month's full moon carries a different name depending on who's watching it rise. Explore the moon names of the Celtic, Wiccan, NeoPagan, English Medieval, Old Farmer's Almanac, Pagan Deborean and Algonquin traditions, each with its period, its history and a note on every name. Six of them name the Blue Moon too. The Moon Tonight The live phase with its illumination, the moon's zodiac sign and element, and a countdown to the exact moment of the next New, Quarter or Full Moon. Supermoons and micromoons are flagged when the full moon is at its closest or most distant. Astronomy You Can Trust Every phase, sign and supermoon is calculated on your device with the methods professional astronomers use, and checked against NASA's JPL ephemeris and the US Naval Observatory. Spell Timing Is tonight good for love magic? Protection? Divination? The Spells tab reads the current phase together with the moon's sign and gives you practical guidance: the power of the night, what it favours, what to avoid or defer, the best time of day, and what the sign amplifies. Notable phase and sign combinations are called out with their own advice. Daily Correspondences Herbs, crystals, colours and a tarot card for tonight's phase and sign, for quick altar preparation without reaching for your reference books. Lunar Gardening Plant by the moon the way generations did before us. What to do and what to avoid in each phase, a fertility rating for every sign, and a month-by-month garden calendar of what to plant, harvest and maintain, calibrated for UK and Irish gardens. Traditional folk wisdom included, because your nan was right about the parsnips. Wheel of the Year A clock-face wheel of the eight sabbats with today's place marked on it. Every festival, from Yule, Imbolc and Ostara to Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh, Mabon and Samhain, has its own page: alternate names, the God's and the Goddess's place in the cycle, an essay, and its symbols, colours, herbs, crystals, foods and traditional activities. Moon Calendar A month of phases at a glance. Tap any day for its phase, illumination, zodiac sign, the tradition's moon name and any supermoon. Home Screen Widget The moon without opening the app. The widget shows tonight's phase and your tradition's moon name, works it out on your device and keeps itself current through the day. On iPad, iPhone and iPhone Duo Runs natively on iPad in every orientation, with a sidebar in landscape, and fits both displays of iPhone Duo, folded or open. No ads. No tracking. No subscriptions. No in-app purchases. No network connection needed and no location used. Everything is calculated on your device. Your practice, your data, your moon.

Sabbats displays The Wheel of the Year which depicts the eight seasons (sabbats) acknowledged by the Pagens/Celts/Wiccans. You can turn the wheel to any sabbat and find out when it occurs, as well as read information about the festival/holiday. One full turn of the wheel represents a full year, the journey of the Earth around the sun. It’s circular to mimic the cyclical nature of the seasons and years passing. It symbolizes the waxing and waning of the sun. The power, death, and rebirth of the God (Earth) and the Goddess’s (the Sun) youth, fertility, motherhood, and rest. Other information includes the dates of the equinoxes and solstices. The app also displays information for the four seasons acknowledged mainly in Europe and America, namely spring, summer, autumn and winter. You can change the date to display information for a specific date or year. The app can send you a notification 'x' days before any of the Sabbats or Seasons.
