Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: The Dummy Test at none against GhostTube's shown. The Dummy Test also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (10.1 vs 16.6). GhostTube's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (7.1K vs 43). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Dummy Test sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GhostTube sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
The Dummy Test holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GhostTube has 7.1K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of The Dummy Test's written reviews are positive against 67% of GhostTube's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
The Dummy Test ships an update every 2 months, GhostTube every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
