Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: ScanNet at 4.7 against Deep Whois's 4.5. ScanNet also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). Deep Whois's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 17.2). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Deep Whois sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and ScanNet sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
ScanNet holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 172 and 345 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Deep Whois's written reviews are positive against 79% of ScanNet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Deep Whois ships an update every 4 months, ScanNet every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
