Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Cycle at none against Cyclemeter Cycling GPS Tracker's shown. Cycle also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (96% vs 75%). Cyclemeter Cycling GPS Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (19K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Cyclemeter Cycling GPS Tracker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Cycle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Cycle holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cyclemeter Cycling GPS Tracker has 19K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Cyclemeter Cycling GPS Tracker's written reviews are positive against 96% of Cycle's.
