Voxel is the original App Store 3D pixel editor! It's like Minecraft without all the mining. Use it to create simple sculptures, 3D icons, game-levels, or just to doodle with blocks. Voxel is easy enough for kids to enjoy, but it is also designed for creative adults. Advanced users will appreciate Voxel's layering and advanced keyframe animation tools. Upload your models to the online gallery! Simply tap in empty space to create the first block. From there you can attach new blocks to it by tapping any face. Or, toggle the grid guide to put blocks exactly where you want them. A color palette lets you change colors. Drag your finger on the selected block to rotate your view. Use a two-finger-swipe to rotate the view as well. Use the familiar two-finger pinch motion to zoom in or out -- or just hold your finger in one spot. Now make models for use with Minecraft -- Voxel now imports/exports .binvox format! Check out the stop motion made by printing 8 frames of a voxel animation: http://www.flatblackfilms.com/Voxel

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Voxel at none against Pixelable's 1. Voxel also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). Pixelable's advantage is ratings volume (3.4K vs 7) and review sentiment (78% vs 65%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pixelable sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Voxel asks for nothing beyond the download.
Voxel holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixelable has 3.4K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Voxel's written reviews are positive against 78% of Pixelable's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Voxel ships an update every 2 months, Pixelable every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
