One of the deepest, richest gameplay found in any game on any platform, NetHack is a cult classic since its release in 1987, and has since spawned many descendants (including Diablo). gandreas software now presents this classic for the iPhone/iPod Touch: - Playable in either "ASCII" mode, or graphics mode (just rotate the device to switch) - Obscure keyboard commands replaced with a simple taps for movement, or a handy command picker. - Commands can also be activated by a unique gesture based command - want to search for a secret door? Swipe across the top of the play area (all the gestures are shown on the command picker for easy reference) - Graphics can be zoomed in/out via pinch - Completely faithful NetHack experience (all the levels, monsters, potions, scrolls, etc...) - iPhone UI - standard scrolling lists, pickers, etc... - Multiple tiles sets, from the classic to the sublime - Never see a keyboard unless you are doing something like typing in a name! Can you retrieve the Amulet of Yendor and return to the surface?

Return to the Amico Home app once the purchase is complete to continue playing while the new game installs. After the new game finishes installing, it will appear in the Amico Home app’s “MY GAMES” area. How to End Play There are two ways to end your Amico Home session: A) Remotely: Open the Amico Controller menu by pressing the little round menu button. Select “Console” then “Close Amico Home” and answer “Yes” to confirm. B). Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Amico Home at free against NetHack's paid. Amico Home also leads on review sentiment (33% vs 25%) and device support (4 vs 2). NetHack's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 7) and iOS requirement (2.2 vs 12.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
NetHack holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NetHack has 1K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of NetHack's written reviews are positive against 33% of Amico Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
