Since iQuit is a very simple app to keep track of the time since stopping smoking, drinking, or anything else you want to track. It also provides an estimated financial saving and acts as a motivational aid. I wrote a version of this programme on the 25th March 2009... The day I stopped smoking. Perhaps it's just the Scot in me, but I found the fact that I was saving my money as well as my health to be a great motivator through the cravings and during my weaker moments. It also became a little like an unbroken chain of 'good days' - the more they accumulated, the more determined I was to not break the chain! I hope that this simple app can help you to stay free of whatever you are trying to quit, as it has for me. Good luck, Hugh Williams

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Bad Habit Tracker at 4.6 against Since iQuit's 3.2. Bad Habit Tracker also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (355 vs 18). Since iQuit's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Since iQuit sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Bad Habit Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Bad Habit Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bad Habit Tracker has 355 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Since iQuit's written reviews are positive against 56% of Bad Habit Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Since iQuit ships an update every 2 months, Bad Habit Tracker every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
