Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Clock mini at 5.0 against Eternal Fire's 2.6. Eternal Fire's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 18) and review sentiment (66% vs 49%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Clock mini sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Eternal Fire asks for nothing beyond the download.
Clock mini holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Eternal Fire has 25 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Eternal Fire's written reviews are positive against 49% of Clock mini's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Eternal Fire ships an update every 2 months, Clock mini every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
