Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Skoog Skratch at none against Baby Scratch's 10. Skoog Skratch also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Baby Scratch's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (55 vs 9). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Baby Scratch sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Skoog Skratch asks for nothing beyond the download.
Baby Scratch holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Baby Scratch has 55 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Baby Scratch's written reviews are positive against 75% of Skoog Skratch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Baby Scratch ships an update every 3 months, Skoog Skratch every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
