Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Hoggy at none against Escape #2's shown. Hoggy also leads on review sentiment (81% vs 51%) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 48). Escape #2's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Hoggy sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Escape #2 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.8 for Hoggy against 4.0 for Escape #2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hoggy has 2.1K ratings behind it against 48, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 81% of Hoggy's written reviews are positive against 51% of Escape #2's.
Hoggy ships an update every 3 months, Escape #2 every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
