Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mako app at none against Globes גלובס's 5. Mako app also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 weeks) and rating (2.1 vs 1.9). Globes גלובס's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Globes גלובס sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Mako app asks for nothing beyond the download.
Mako app holds the better App Store score, 2.1 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mako app has 130 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 4% of Mako app's written reviews are positive against 11% of Globes גלובס's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Mako app ships an update every 9 days, Globes גלובס every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
