Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Vars holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Serre Chevalier's written reviews are positive against 70% of Vars's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Serre Chevalier ships an update every 9 days, Vars every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
