Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mars Info Lite at 96% against Space Images's 63%. Mars Info Lite also leads on ratings volume (200 vs 16) and device support (4 vs 2). Space Images's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Space Images holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mars Info Lite has 200 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Space Images's written reviews are positive against 96% of Mars Info Lite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Space Images ships an update every 4 months, Mars Info Lite every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
