Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MyFlightbook at none against Kitplanes's 21. MyFlightbook also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Kitplanes's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for MyFlightbook against 5.0 for Kitplanes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyFlightbook has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
