Deduce is a fun way to learn and visualize the process of logical deduction. It’s a uniquely challenging game combining logic, vocabulary, and spelling skills (with a small element of luck) played with words. Your goal is to discover a hidden mystery word with as few guesses as possible. Deduce acts as an assistant who enforces the rules, provides hints, keeps track of your progress, collects statistics, manages saved games, and (for Game Center users) awards achievements. Reviewers have said: "One of my favorite games", "Other games get installed-played-uninstalled, but this one stays", "Challenging and addictive", "Very original and lots of fun", "I'm completely hooked", "Hope I can stop playing it soon!" Features: 1. Many thousands of possible games (more than 20,000) 2. Comfort level - Deduce can be as easy or challenging as you like, with optional features to assist your thinking. Play with easier 5 letter words or more difficult 6 letter words. NEVER ANY ADS TO DISTRACT YOU! 3. Game Center integration. Statistical results, scores, and saved games are associated with the active Game Center player. If you are not logged into Game Center, you may supply your own player name for separate game tracking, or play anonymously. If you use Game Center, scores are reported to Classic, Novice, and Puzzle leaderboards. A Champions leaderboard ranks the overall quality of your play over time. Achievements may be earned based on the quality and persistence of your game play. As you earn Deduce achievements discover 50 19th century literary giants of the western world, who were also masters with words. A portrait medallion, with a biography link, is awarded for each achievement -- collect them all! 3. Mystery Word definitions. When you finish a game of Deduce, a definition of the mystery word is provided. Increase your vocabulary as you play more games. Definitions come from’s Apple’s downloadable dictionaries or Wiktionary, whichever is available. 4. Game records. Save your games automatically or selectively. Create beautifully formatted PDFs of your games for sharing or printing. 5. Preferences. Deduce also plays well on a shared device. Each family member can play using their own name or Game Center account with separate saved games, statistics, and (for Game Center users) achievements. 7. Fit words into a grid in this popular game, often seen in puzzle magazines. The grid looks like a crossword, but there are no normal clues. Instead you must find the right place in the grid for each word from a given list. The game has an easy to use interface. Either drag-and-drop the words to their correct position, or tap the grid and then the word. Play with an English word list or choose one of 25 other languages. • Play an unlimited number of different puzzles!! • Multiple difficulty options. Start with easy puzzles. Then change the settings to play more challenging puzzles. You can configure: 1) Grid size Specify exactly how many columns and rows to use (from 3 to 20). Even non square grids (e.g. 12x15) are possible. 2) Screen layout Choose how much screen space for the grid and how much for the word list, using our unique movable split bar. 3) Minimum & Maximum word length This helps avoid searching for many small words (a common problem in word apps). Also useful for specifying really difficult games (e.g. set both minimum and maximum word length to three). 4) Starting letters The game can start with one or more letters already placed in the grid, in order to help you get started. 5) Language Choose the language of the word list, from a large range of downloadable dictionaries. 26 languages are currently available (see below). 6) Orientation Can be played in portrait or landscape mode. Just rotate your device and the display adjusts automatically. This app gives you the ultimate power to play the game just the way you want. Each game is assigned a difficulty level from 0 (easy) to 9 (very hard). The difficulty level is determined by the settings. Each difficulty level maintains the high scores (measured by fastest time to complete the game). The game displays the best 20 scores for each difficulty level. Other features unique to this app: 1) View the definition of the word from an online source (e.g. Wiktionary), optimized for viewing on a small screen. 2) When you play with a word list in a foreign language, the word definition will (where possible) be in your own language. This is great for language learning! Dictionaries available are English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Polish, Norwegian, Romanian, Serbian(Latin), Serbian(Cyrillic), Slovak, Slovene, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian and more coming later
