Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Calculator + at 4.6 against Calculator's 3.7. Calculator + also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 43%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Calculator + sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Calculator + holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator + has 10K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Calculator +'s written reviews are positive against 43% of Calculator's.
Calculator + ships an update every 5 days, Calculator every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
