Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CostX at 100% against Checklists App's 22%. CostX also leads on price (Free vs $0.99) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 10 months). Checklists App's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Checklists App holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CostX has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Checklists App's written reviews are positive against 100% of CostX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Checklists App ships an update every 10 months, CostX every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
