Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Effects Camera at 80% against iVideoCamera Lite's 44%. Effects Camera also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 86 months) and ratings volume (25 vs 6). iVideoCamera Lite's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iVideoCamera Lite sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Effects Camera sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
iVideoCamera Lite holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of iVideoCamera Lite's written reviews are positive against 80% of Effects Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
iVideoCamera Lite ships an update every 86 months, Effects Camera every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
