Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Interval Timer at 4.5 against MyMotion Free's 3.6. Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (536 vs 5) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). MyMotion Free's advantage is review sentiment (45% vs 21%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 536 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of MyMotion Free's written reviews are positive against 21% of Interval Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

MyMotion Free ships an update every 2 months, Interval Timer monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
