About the Coach (Robin Symes): Originally from Northern Ireland, Robin has been involved with the game of golf for over 25 years. As an amateur golfer, Robin won at all levels, county, national, and international. Most notably, Robin was instrumental in helping Ireland to win the European Team Championship – also representing Great Britain & Ireland. Following his amateur career, Robin pursed his Professional career playing in mini tours and regional tours with invitations on the European Tour. While competing, Robin was achieving his PGA Class A status, and it was during this time he developed a great interest in teaching. This passion to teach lead him to begin his new career in 2003, working for David Leadbetter in England, and in 2006, transferring to a newly opened David Leadbetter Academy in South Korea, in which he spent 3 years as Senior Instructor. In 2009, Robin opened his own academy, IGI “International Golf Institute” and has become a regular instructor for Golf Digest. If you haven’t heard of Robin yet, you have most likely heard of a few of the world class professionals that he provides instruction and consultation to. The 2012 U.S. Women’s Open Champion, NaYeon Choi, is just one of the many talented tour pros that have been working with Robin for several years now. While Robin’s main clients are aspiring tour professional, he also loves helping all levels of players. Complete Golf Coach goal is just that, a tool to pass Robin’s teaching on to players from anywhere in the world, helping them improve and increase their enjoyment of the game. Notable players Robin has worked with include: • NaYeon Choi– LPGA (2012 US Open Champion) • HaNeul Kim – KLPGA/JLPGA (JLPGA money list winner) • SangMoon Bae – PGA Tour • Jennifer Song – LPGA (US Amatuer & Public Links Champion 2009) • MiJung Hur – LPGA • Michael Hoey – European Tour

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Golfmaster Tips at 5.0 against Complete Golf Coach's 4.5. Golfmaster Tips also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). Complete Golf Coach's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 54%) and ratings volume (21 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Complete Golf Coach sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Golfmaster Tips asks for nothing beyond the download.
Golfmaster Tips holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Complete Golf Coach has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Golfmaster Tips's written reviews are positive against 86% of Complete Golf Coach's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
