Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: Music Resources at $0.99 against forScore's $24.99. Music Resources also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and review sentiment (68% vs 50%). forScore's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.9) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

forScore holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: forScore has 44K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of forScore's written reviews are positive against 68% of Music Resources's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

forScore ships an update every 9 days, Music Resources every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
