Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: myClassroom at 4.5 against School Countdown's 3.0. myClassroom also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (395 vs 25). School Countdown's advantage is review sentiment (54% vs 35%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. School Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and myClassroom sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

myClassroom holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: myClassroom has 395 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of School Countdown's written reviews are positive against 35% of myClassroom's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

School Countdown ships an update every 8 months, myClassroom every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
