Both are free to download. BrainPOP sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Hanover Community School Corp. asks for nothing beyond the download.
BrainPOP holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BrainPOP has 34K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of BrainPOP's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hanover Community School Corp.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
BrainPOP ships an update every 2 months, Hanover Community School Corp. every 36 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
