A simple, easy to understand, tutorial of Zen and how to use it in your life. Written in plain language, this hopefully dispels the reputation of Zen as being 'mysterious', 'mystical', 'deep', 'hard to get' because of the difficulty in explaining its practice. Zen is actually very practical and simple if what is explained is what it's for and how to practice it. Other teaching books tend to get bogged down in Zen history, Zen terms and rituals. This tutorial tries to put those things aside first and concentrate on the essence of Zen: how it works, why it works, and how it makes our life better. Not a religion nor a cult nor a philosophy, Zen is a healthy mental attitude that can help anyone of any religious background or philosophy. Remembers your place in the book. This is the story about how young people in South Auckland in New Zealand are beating Rheumatic Fever. Told in their 'beat'. The app was created at a 2-day workshop in August 2016. A group of talented local students came together to design, write, illustrate and record a poem about how to prevent the spread of rheumatic fever in their community. “We worked together as a group to make a poem to persuade people to see a doctor and get your sore throat sorted out or you could get rheumatic (beat) fever and heart damage. So if you have a sore and scratchy throat, do you want to be coughing about, do you want a throat red and sore, if you don’t well then LISTEN UP.” Mercedez, Rachel, Sisilia , Esther, Deja, Jazz and Praise Our awesome poem is based upon the idea of “How do Whānau Support Rheumatic Fever? (the impact it has on them)”. It is about a boy who has rheumatic fever and is sadly at the hospital where his family are encouraging him to get better and help him ‘battle’ this fever so that he can be better. Ethan, Bailey, Shaun and Mikaele “Rheumatic fever is a disease caused by strep throat from bacteria called streptococcal pharyngitis. Rheumatic fever can spread by not getting treated right” Denzael, Leilani, Christine, Raphael and Salarina “So we started by learning what Rheumatic fever is and then each of us wrote a poem each. Next we added the main components of each poem and turned it into one. After that we came up with scenes for our animation. And further on we let Munro turn it all into a app. Thanks For Reading And We As A Team Hope You Learned Something New.” Pratik, Joshua, Talei and Mohokoi FEATURES * Swipe-to-Read™ * All words in te reo Māori are Touch-to-Hear™ * All words in te reo Māori are Touch-to-Spell™ * Read-to-me and read-it-myself options Customise the book: * record your narration This digital book contains narration in English, Te Reo Māori and Samoan languages.
