The clearest difference is rating: The Ultimate Buzzer at 4.4 against Gameshow Buzz Button's 3.1. The Ultimate Buzzer also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 99) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Gameshow Buzz Button's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
The Ultimate Buzzer holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Ultimate Buzzer has 15K ratings behind it against 99, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Gameshow Buzz Button's written reviews are positive against 32% of The Ultimate Buzzer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Gameshow Buzz Button ships an update every 3 months, The Ultimate Buzzer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
