The clearest difference is rating: Maui Wowi at 4.3 against Locations LLC's 3.1. Maui Wowi also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Maui Wowi holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Locations LLC has 21 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Locations LLC's written reviews are positive against 75% of Maui Wowi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Locations LLC ships an update every 2 months, Maui Wowi monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
