Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: KBS 뉴스 at 3.0 against MBC 뉴스's 2.2. On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
KBS 뉴스 holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of KBS 뉴스's written reviews are positive against 45% of MBC 뉴스's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
KBS 뉴스 ships an update every 6 weeks, MBC 뉴스 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
