The cars could spiral out of control; causing nausea, whiplash, or sudden death. Our roller coasters use a realistic lift hill cable to pull the cars to the peak of the track. Once the cars reach the peak, potential energy accumulated by the rise in height transfers to kinetic energy and the cars race downwards. Some energy is lost to friction on the track itself. The effects of gravity are taken into account to increase speed and accelerations accurately. You can experience several G's of force on high-speed turns! iRollerCoaster features: - Advanced OpenGL graphics - Music and sound effects - Online high score database - High-resolution textures - Compatible with iPad Pro iRollerCoaster is brought to you by the makers of World Winter Games and iBASEjump. Have fun with iRollerCoaster and enjoy the ride!

It doesn't get much simpler than this: land the Lunar Module on the landing pad (but not too fast!) and all is well. But then it does get a little bit harder: moving platforms, meteor showers, and even black holes can start to make it get a little crazier. Eighteen levels should give you half an hour of entertainment. It's 8-bit style arcade action, suitable for anyone who remembers what a video arcade was like, and likes the color green.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Retro Lunar Lander at none against iRollerCoaster's 1. Retro Lunar Lander also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 17%). iRollerCoaster's advantage is update cadence (every 25 months vs every 124 months) and ratings volume (92 vs 4). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. iRollerCoaster sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Retro Lunar Lander asks for nothing beyond the download.
iRollerCoaster holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iRollerCoaster has 92 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of iRollerCoaster's written reviews are positive against 50% of Retro Lunar Lander's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
iRollerCoaster ships an update every 25 months, Retro Lunar Lander every 124 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
