Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Custom Contacts at 95% against Keep Contacts's 50%. Custom Contacts also leads on ratings volume (56 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.6 vs 15.0). Keep Contacts's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Custom Contacts sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Keep Contacts asks for nothing beyond the download.
Keep Contacts holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Custom Contacts has 56 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Keep Contacts's written reviews are positive against 95% of Custom Contacts's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Keep Contacts ships an update every 6 weeks, Custom Contacts every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
