Kiosk is a small browser for people who want control over the web: how it looks, what it says, and what runs on it. KIOSK MODE Real fullscreen. No bars, no distractions. Triple-tap to exit — no Guided Access to set up, no system prompts. Turn an iPad into a dedicated display for a shop window, a trade show, an info point, or a smart-home panel on the wall. Worth knowing before you start: the way out is a deliberate triple-tap, not a passcode. For an unattended public terminal, pair Kiosk with Guided Access. DESKTOP MODE Desktop browsing with a configurable viewport resolution, so pages render the way they do on a laptop instead of the cramped mobile layout iOS forces. Switch user agents (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) with a tap. EDIT ANY WEBSITE Tap the pencil and the page becomes editable. Change a headline, fix a price, hide a banner, rewrite a sentence. Screenshot it, share it, or save it as an HTML snapshot you can reopen offline, exactly as you left it. SCRIPTS AND AUTO-RELOAD Run your own JavaScript on the sites you choose, every time they load: force dark mode, hide cookie banners, add a shortcut. Scripts use the standard userscript format — drop a .js file into the folder and it runs. Three samples are included. Set any page to reload itself every 30 seconds, every minute, every 5 minutes: dashboards and signage stay fresh on their own. DIGITAL SIGNAGE ON YOUR OWN NETWORK Self-signed certificates are accepted out of the box, so home dashboards, routers, staging servers and smart-home panels just work. Everything runs on your LAN. No cloud in the middle, nothing to sign in to. A REAL BROWSER UNDERNEATH Tabs that keep their scroll position and form state, bookmarks, history, search engines, and JSON export of everything you have. SPACES Bookmarks, history, scripts, snapshots and per-context settings live in plain folders on your device. Open the Files app and there they are. AirDrop a Space to another iPad and the whole setup follows. DEFAULT BROWSER Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Browser > Kiosk, and every link you tap opens here. PRIVACY No account, no cloud, no tracking. Block web fonts to slip past trackers that fingerprint you by your font list — it keeps working after you clear cookies or change IP. KIOSK UNLIMITED Try it all first. Edit three pages, run one 15-minute kiosk session, keep three snapshots, add one script and one user agent of your own. Change the desktop width and watch the page redraw; switch auto-reload on and watch it work. Then decide. Kiosk Unlimited is an optional one-time purchase, not a subscription. It takes the limits off: edit as often as you like, kiosk mode with no session limit, auto-reload that stays on, the desktop width you choose, your own scripts and user agents, snapshots without a cap. Free either way: the browser itself — tabs, bookmarks, history, search engines — desktop mode, the twelve built-in user agents, the three bundled scripts, default browser, privacy controls, JSON export and Spaces. Nothing you have made is ever hidden or deleted. No subscription. Not now, not later. Already have Kiosk? Kiosk Unlimited is already yours, automatically, forever — including everything it adds later. Nothing to buy again, nothing to restore. EVERY DEVICE iPhone, iPad and Mac (Apple Silicon), one app. Under 1 MB. Localized into 40+ languages. Made by one person who uses it every day.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Char Info at 5.0 against Kiosk's 4.0. Char Info also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and review sentiment (100% vs 67%). Kiosk's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 99 months) and ratings volume (28 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
