Same English translation does not always mean the same Korean word. Better Korean Dictionary helps learners see which word fits through contextual explanations, related-word comparisons, and Hanja roots. COMPARE SIMILAR KOREAN WORDS Selected entries explain how related words overlap and where their usage differs. Contextual notes are prepared before release and are not generated from your searches. FOLLOW HANJA ROOTS See the Chinese-character roots behind Korean vocabulary. Tap a Hanja character to browse other words that contain it and build connected word families. SEARCH THREE WAYS Search by Korean, English, or Hanja. Browse words and Hanja by frequency to focus on useful vocabulary. LOOK UP WORDS WITHOUT A SIGNAL Dictionary content is bundled with the app, so lookup does not require a network connection. Searches and recent-search history stay on your device. REMOVE ADS ONCE The free version may show a non-personalized banner ad after any privacy choices required in your region. An optional one-time purchase removes ads after the entitlement is recognized. There is no subscription. Dictionary entries come from the National Institute of Korean Language's Korean-English Learner's Dictionary. Hanja data also uses Unicode Unihan and libhangul sources. AI-assisted contextual notes are available for selected entries and may contain mistakes; corrections are welcome through the support page.
